The Boy That Left Church

Years have gone by. A man is who I am now. Adolescent-hood has left me. I have been building my musical skills, I now have my first degree, everything is happening so fast without even knocking. Passing-by I noticed the retarded off note sung by a set of people in the church I was hoping to be part of. Are they rehearsing or something? I distracted my friend. Oh, you don’t know? I asked; where is that guy that led them? You mean the boy that left the church? He responded. Is that his name? No, that’s what peeps call him.

I am not far from making a similar decision. Do not despise the days of little beginning; I know. But seeing that I am now on the cross road of independence? Choked by the needs of an adult and responsibilities scattered around my neck? Now I wonder why he left the church. Actually, the push to be better, to improve and to be numbered among the successful is a force that drives every young man of which I am not different. I have reasons, genuine reasons to leave. It is not that I left the church as everyone explains. Haven’t you heard – searching for greener pasture? I want to improve my status. I have the skill, I know the techniques, I have the voice for crying out loud. I am an asset, if not put to use properly will turn to an abandoned building. 

A good environment fosters success. I need where I would be appreciated for my much effort. I garnered reasons for my actions and was consumed only by my wants. This is not a pointer to anyone who left a church but to those who are consumed by self, their needs only, and often leave when the harvest is due. To be better is a virtue, to count only your number among other numbers is not godly. People leave the oven too soon only to realize they landed in the trash can.  They actually have the potential to satisfy one’s long night fast; all but BUT is the word attached to their stories. Well, I left the church and saw those with like passion and was covered by the awesome achievement made by these people I was far better than. I only saw the building and not the hidden foundation. It was hidden from me and those who want to fly without wings or engines. 

Years passed, my songs were still not on the mouth of babes, and my posters are not seen on the street. Have you not read that Talent is never enough? I grasped some things along my journey. Adding value to life attracts those things we staked our neck for. How did the story end? I left to cut the tree of life with a blunt knife. My church was a place where I was equipped to add value but I drained the tank of all its life-giving water and filled it with gravels of worries and quick-fame-quest. 

While you hustle as most would say – patience is not evil, wisdom and instructions are not for fools who don’t know what to do, your small business won't magically turn into a multi-billion dollar company, don’t run with zeal alone. To those asking: what if you are rejected, not appreciated and all of that. Well, it is painful at first, but I got to live still, I got to keep doing good still, I got to keep my integrity still, I have got to start appreciating myself, start getting fulfilled by finishing every task excellently, build my esteem, and refuse to live on their opinions and appraisals. I recommend knowing Jesus and growing in the grace that He has freely given.

The boy that left the church – will you leave wisdom behind for the wild market? I Answered; No dad. He continued; Solomon only operated on the instructions of His father and was never poor!

Wisdom is on the street for free as you are about your journey to the market, if you go without it, you will pay with your tears, sweat, time and money. It is disguised in advice as life itself is disguised in a book called the bible. Hope you’ll tell your sons this story.

DAVID’S VIEW POINT ON THE PITFALLS OF INTENDING ENTREPRENEURS

On our second outing we stumbled into this…

INTRODUCTION

As servants of God money should serve you. People who don’t know God and the way He works fuss over these things, but you know both God and the way He works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out [1], because I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health even as thy soul prospereth [2]. Brothers this is Gods agenda for us but many are still failing and inconsistent in life. The reason for this is the choices we’ve made over time. God cannot be held responsible for any pitfall. I just think we’ve not gotten the revelation. As you read over what I have written to you, you’ll be able to see for yourselves into the mystery of Christ provision (my emphasis). The mystery is that people who have never heard of God and those who have heard of Him all their lives, stand on the same ground before of God [3]; Thus, making them eligible to the blessings of Abraham. God has made these principles universal, whosoever applies them will get the result thereof. Thank God for Christ. Christ tore the veil of failure for us to operate in all round victory. We have no excuse to disappoint the kingdom in where God has planted you. As we review this two pitfalls as addressed by our own brother, my prayer for you is that The God of our lord Jesus Christ, the father of glory may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation of insight into deep and intimate knowledge of Him and His expectation to see you succeed (emphasis by me) by having the eyes of your heart flooded with light…[4]. I must say that this is a light for anyone who is thinking business. Every transaction we do in life is business. It is legal practice in the kingdom.

THE TWO PITFALLS OF INTENDING ENTERPRENEURS

1. THEY DO NOTHING

One day I walked by the field of

An old lazybones, and then passed

The vineyard of a lout; they were overgrown

With weeds, thick with thistles

All the fences broken down. I took a long

Look and pondered what I saw; the fields preached

me a sermon and I listened:

A nap here, a nap there, a day off here,

a day off there, sit back, take it easy. Do you know

What comes next, just this:

You can look forward to a dirt-poor life,

Poverty your permanent house guest! [5].

This people that do nothing are not zero on ideas or things to do, they do what is called ANALYSIS PARALYSIS. Analysis paralysis is having an idea, analyzing and over analyzing that idea with all kinds of information until you get confused and drop the idea gotten. That is paralysis. This is what the bible says concerning this matter: Loafers say it’s dangerous out there! Tigers are prowling the streets! And then pull the covers back over their head [6]. He who observes the wind will not sow. Don’t sit down watching the wind, do your own work, don’t stare at the clouds, get on with life [7]. Now consider, how many ideas has the Lord given you? but along the line you started analyzing until you started paralyzing those ideas. The rain will fall when the cloud gets heavy. Don’t look at it and say I will not do this because of this. The rain is doing its work are you doing yours?  So many are too fear-gripped for God’s liking. We are not saying don’t think and map out plans once the idea comes.  We are saying; don’t analyse and pack all the WON’Ts in the world. Do not despise the years of small beginnings, God is delighted in seeing you succeed [8]. One day David accosted a very successful business man and asked him how he was able to make it this far considering the fact that he did not pass through the four walls of university. This was his response; learn to decide quickly and act quickly.
Only lazy and fearful people console themselves by saying ‘’be wise as serpent and be patient.’’ patience is not procrastination. Wisdom is not backing off everything for fear of temporal instability – Onyi. Many people are waiting for the perfect time. When is the perfect time? Procrastination is the thief of time.

2. THEY DO ANYTHING
Doing anything is doing nothing. Yes act quickly, but don’t act on anything. Any man that does anything is only in a circle. He has gone nowhere. When you walk in the direction of your dream, life tends to favor you – (Amobi David). Don’t do anything but those things that your heart beat for because in times of challenges only passion can sustain it. Do things in the line of your passion. You can never gain respect as a liability. You must do something in the line of your dreams. Understand the power of focus. If the eye be single and focused, your whole body will be full of light and thus, you cannot stumble. You are never a focus until you have focus – (David Oyedepo). The problem you identify is a pointer to where God is taking you to – (Matthew Obaka).

TAKE THE ‘MIC’

                     
Can I chip in something to sleeping Christians who spend all day in church, praying and fasting expecting God to send ravens? Even if He does, you will have to go to the brook - Do something!. According to Andrew Wommack; 100 x 0 = 0. 100% spirituality without a proper application of the principles for success is equal to zero. The church is a place of refilling, reequipping and getting all you need to conquer the world for Christ. The problem is that Christians have been so confined to the four walls of the building for so long that we ignore that we are to go ye into the world for Christ.

Jesus undeterred, went right ahead and gave His charge:

God authorized and commanded me to commission you:

Go and train every one (in your field), far and near, in this

(Kingdom) way of life, marking them by baptism… then

instruct them (as leaders) in the practice of all I have commanded

YOU.  (Emphasis is mine)  Matt 28:18-20(MSG)

So tell me, who are those in the business world which fuels and funds the other mountains, training people in the kingdom way of doing business. Who are those in the mountain of art and entertainment were values and virtues are celebrated or distorted, who are those in government where evil is either restrained or indorsed, who are those in families where either godly or ungodly offsprings are raised, who are those in Education where truths or lies about God and His creation are told, who are those in Media where information is released through the lens of good or evil, who are those in Religion revealing the love of the Father. We are only focused on religion and thus, we’ve lost the other six mountains! Where is the intensity of light tested? In the Dark! Where are the lights on these seven mountains of influence? Are we covering this light under the bushel of ‘’me and my family’’? Do you know the kingdom is not ready to lose one mountain? Jesus teaching; the shepherd after securing the 99 will go searching for the 1 and will not stop until he comes back with the 1. God is expecting a 100% profit of everything He has deposited inside of you.

Do businesses till I come - Luke 19:13.

Can you sing, are you good in writing, administration, counseling, organizing, public speaking, fashion, sports, presenting, cooking, hair styling, IT, construction, artifacts, teaching, modeling (do you take selfies a lot? )… etc.
I can prove to you that you are like that servant with one talent. How? You are not setting the pace in your field and mountain and as such not meeting up to the expectation of our Father!  


For over 30 years God gave three men a vision; Loren Canningham founder of YWAM, Bill Bright founder of Campus Crusade, and  Francis Schaeffer theologian and founder of L’Abri. The vision was a description on how to advance the kingdom of God in this generation.
There is an unseen battle rage for dominion over Gods creation and souls of the people. This battle is fought on these seven fronts known as mountains over the culture to shake and influence its destiny. The church has retrieved its place of influence over these mountains. When we lose our influence, we lose the culture and when we lose the culture we fail to advance the kingdom of God.


Lets join in this fight and conquer this seven mountains for the Kingdom!

Ways to stay motivated and accomplish anything

Does the start of a New Month,, renew your energy and motivation to achieve change? For most it does, but let's face it, no matter how driven you are, there will be times when your energy and commitment will be low. Yes, it happens--even to the most motivated among us.

You may have a great plan for your business, but now it's time to create a plan to keep yourself in high gear at work. When you need a boost try these simple tips to tap into your motivation. You know you can achieve anything when you put your mind to it, so put your mind to making 2016 a wonderful year! No matter how the year has been you can still make it work.

1. Determine your motivating force.
What's your why, your passion, the vision beyond the vision, as I call it? You must have a reason to succeed; one that touches the deepest levels of your being. Before you begin every project explore the big picture. Why is it so important to you? What will you lose if you don't keep going? If you commit to something, just because you should, you will look back upon failure.

2. Tap into the energy of others.
If you feel tired, uninspired, even like giving up, I challenge you to examine the mindset of those around you. Do conversations with your closest companions renew your energy or drain it? Do you have people in your life who can engage in stimulating conversation about business or the other things that you're passionate about?

As human beings we give and receive energy and inspiration. Make sure you are receiving as much, or more, than you are handing out.

3. Get your thoughts organized.
When I'm working on a big project, nothing zaps my energy more than an over-stimulated, cluttered mind. This is an easy state for entrepreneurs to fall into because we are so full of ideas and strategies: your mind can go in a million directions and all of them seem viable at the time. Collect these thoughts by talking through your desired outcome, what you've done so far, and your options for moving forward. Your coach is a great resource for this, they are always there to inspire us. Sometimes all it takes is a willing ear, so a patient friend will do. It's surprising how things can fall back into place simply by revisiting your goals with a second party.

4. Move the process from your head to an organized list.
You know how it goes. You're determined to make some headway today and you've got two hours to make a dent in your project. But you sit down, uncertain about where to begin. So what do you do instead? Get lost in social media or another distraction, right?

Detailed lists outlining your next steps can eliminate this temptation. Break down your goals into bite-size, manageable chunks and always refer to your list before you get to work. Better yet, schedule time into your calendar for the very specific tasks that will take you to the next level in your project. The more specific you get, the less your mind will be inclined to go another direction.

5. Renew your creativity with a mind map.
If you keep your ideas and options in your head, it's difficult to tap into more expansive thinking. Your brain can efficiently manage only so much information before that information becomes nothing more than clutter. When you find yourself feeling overwhelmed or confused about how to get from point A to point B, create a mind map. When you do this, it not only organizes the mess in your brain; it also brings out your creativity and resourcefulness.

6. Have a plan B.
Find inspiration in these words from Thomas Edison: "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

Be prepared to change course in light of the unexpected. This does not mean that you are giving up on a great idea. It means that you're destined to find one that's even better.

7. Don't worry, be happy.
The Dalai Lama was once asked what surprised him most about humanity. "Man," he answered. Why? "Because," said His Holiness, "he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never to die, and then dies having never really lived."
