MAC cosmetics is launching a 'Star Trek' in honor of the sci-fi series 50th anniversary

A collection that will definitely go forth and prosper! MAC announced yesterday that it's launching its first Star Trek–themed beauty collection in honor of the sci-fi series' 50th anniversary.

Arriving in stores this September, two months after Star Trek Beyond's July 22 release date.The 25-piece collection will include the brand's beloved Lipstick, Lipgloss, Pressed Pigment Eye Shadow and Studio Nail Lacquer. Each piece will be inspired by the series' fierce female characters (including Uhura, portrayed by Zoe Saldana in the new films).

"Star Trek is an iconic pop culture phenomena whose storylines pushed gender and racial boundaries," James Gager, MAC's senior vice president, group creative director, shared in a statement. "For its 50th anniversary, we celebrate each of Star Trek's powerful women in a transcending, transformational makeup collection."
